Our Omlet Eglu's

This is our fourth successful year of offering our very popular chicken & duck boarding service. We have Omlet Eglu's, Go's and Cubes, so your chickens can stay in luxury and comfort.

Whilst we know the best scenario is to always keep your hens in the comfort of their own home, this is not always possible, so over the years we feel we have perfected the most stress free alternative for your chickens. We only use the Omlet housing for boarding hens as the houses can be thoroughly scrubbed and disinfected, don't harbour red mite and are very safe.

We have a choice of housing depending on how many chickens or ducks you have. We have Omlet Eglu's and Go's with run extensions that will house a maximum of 4 medium birds, and we have Omlet Cube's with run extensions that will house up to 10 chickens (not suitable for ducks). We have fitted the Cube's with external roosting bars in the run which our 'guests' love to have an afternoon nap on!

Your birds will benefit from:

* A safe, trustworthy, very experienced home where we can quickly spot and treat any problems should they arise.

* Spotlessly clean housing, scrubbed or jet washed before every visit and sprayed with Smite or Ardap mite & lice killer.

* A large run with a sun/rain shade moved onto fresh ground every other day. The ground is treated with Stalosan disinfectant or lime to kill off any 'nasties' and then rested for 6 weeks between visitors to prevent cross infection. This does mean we have to move all the houses regularly into different fields, but feel it is worth it to give the hens fresh, sanitised ground. Grass is regularly mown so the hens never have access to crop binding long stalks.

* Garvo Complete Layers pellets or mash included, or if you prefer your hens to have their usual feed or a special diet please bring it along and we will stick with your routine.

* We will collect and keep any eggs laid by your birds for you to take home.

* Droppings removed regularly from the housing, and fresh bedding laid.

* All hens will be thoroughly checked over with you on arrival. If they have any lice we ask that you buy a louse powder treatment from our shop (from £5). We will then thoroughly dust your hens with your powder and obviously return any unused product to you. We do ask that you check them carefully before coming to stay with us, as it is in their interests not to have the additional stress of lice treatment on arrival.

* Fully insulated housing so the chickens will not become too hot or cold.

* Chickens will be locked inside the Omlet house overnight for safety.

* Very fox resistant, large safe run for your hens only - we would never consider mixing groups of hens.

* All our Omlet Eglu's have a 1m run extension fitted, giving a total run length of 3 metre's.

* Our Omlet Cube's have an additional 1m run extension fitted to the standard run and external 'day perches'.

* Ducks will be provided with a fresh washing up bowl sized tub of water to dunk in (and if they are smaller breed, they can have a little swim in it!)

* Our whole property is covered by 'farm alarms' as well as comprehensive CCTV to keep your girls secure!

RATES

Per coop not per bird.

Eglu & run - Houses up to 4 chickens - £5 per night

Cube & run - For 5-7 chickens - £7.50 per night

Cube & run - For 8-10 chickens - £10 per night.

Please note there is a minimum charge of £15 for an Eglu & £20 for a Cube.

For an additional charge of £3 per bird, we can worm your chickens or ducks with Flubenvet during their stay. This covers a 7 day course of Flubenvet, if they are staying for a shorter time we will return the birds with enough pre-medicated feed to complete the treatment.

Please contact us for further details or to book - We ask for a £10 deposit for an Eglu and £20 for a Cube at the time of booking.

No bookings will be held until a non-returnable deposit has been paid either via Paypal, cheque or over the telephone via credit card.

Please contact us 24 hours prior to drop off to arrange a time to bring your hens if it is outside our opening times.

We are closed Sunday - Tuesday but can usually be available on those days for hen boarding collection and drop off, but please call to arrange a convenient time beforehand, we are only available for limited time slots on those days.
