GENUINE COTSWOLD LEGBARS

 

Developed 20 years ago in the Cotswolds these hens will lay lovely pastel coloured eggs.  They lay eggs in shades of blue, olive to pale pink.  The eggs all have a superior hard shell, a dense texture, with a large yolk and superb flavour.

The birds themselves come in a range of colours but all have a distinctive 'topknot'.  They are a slightly larger hen and can be flighty so are best kept either free range or in a large area with very high fences!

Our Cotswold Legbars come direct from the founder breeder, Legbars of Broadway.  

At 12 weeks the hens are £33 rising weekly to £35 from 16 weeks onwards.

BURFORD BROWNS

We have genuine Burford Browns from Legbars of Broadway.  These hens will lay superb quality,  brown eggs with thick shells - they really are the 'Rolls Royce' of layers. 

The hens themselves are very attractive and are a glossy black with a beetle green sheen and various amounts of copper accents. They are bred to be tough and resilient.

 They make great pets, are usually docile and calm and enjoy human company.

At 12 weeks the hens are £33 rising weekly to £36 from 16 weeks onwards.
