Serama's are the smallest breed of chicken in the world and make great pets!
Hatching eggs are usually available from mid-spring onwards, once we have thoroughly tested fertility.
While we cannot guarantee fertility, we only sell eggs when we are achieving at least 70% fertility here. In the unlikely event that not a single egg shows any signs of development after candling at day 7, please return the eggs with your receipt, and we will check them. If they are completely clear with no signs of development in al of the eggs, we will provide a refund. All eggs we sell are marked, so please bring them back for checking if you have any issues.
Please note that a 70% hatch rate is considered good for hatching eggs. We recommend setting at least 6 eggs, which should result in approximately 3 chicks. Achieving a 100% hatch rate is extremely rare. It’s also worth keeping in mind that roughly half of the chicks are likely to be cockerels.
If eggs are showing as available for pre-order, you can place your order and we will message you as soon as enough eggs have been laid. Timings can vary, so please contact us if you need eggs urgently; typically, it takes around one - two weeks.
Serama Hatching Eggs - Price per egg
Please note that we cannot guarantee the fertility of hatching eggs, and they are purchased entirely at the buyer’s risk.
Fertility is regularly tested on our premises (we hatch every three weeks), and we only offer eggs for sale when an absolute minimum fertility rate of 70% is achieved. However, hatching eggs are a natural product, and fertility and development can be affected by many factors beyond our control.
Please only purchase if you are comfortable with this understanding.
We ask that you candle your eggs after 7 days. In the highly unlikely event that there are no signs of fertility or development in 100% of the eggs, please return the eggs to us so we can candle them ourselves to confirm the results.
We want every customer to have a positive experience with our hatching eggs. For this reason, we regularly carry out trial hatches to monitor fertility and would never knowingly sell eggs that are not fertile; however, this remains an inherent risk when purchasing hatching eggs.
